SUPER STAR TITLE

On August 5th, 2012, a dream came true. Wings won first place in the Super Star Division at the All-Star Obedience Championship held in York, PA. This was their first tournament win and it was a thrill.

Wings did everything I asked and more. Her first Novice B trial was a High In Trial award, the first of many. She earned her OTCH at 3 years old quickly in a few weekends. She won the 2012 All Star “Super Star Division” Tournament in Harrisburg, PA, went to the NOC (AKC National Obedience Championship OTCH Dog Invitational) 6 times, even flying to Long Beach, California 2 times. She also went to Florida several times and also showed at the AKC Obedience Classic when that started. She ranked in the GRCA National Obedience & Agility Ratings at the same time, 2 years in a row and qualified for the Agility and Obedience Nationals in the same year 5 times. She loved retrieving ducks and earned her JH, AKC Junior Hunter title and the GRCA WC & WCX, working certificate excellent titles. She still retrieved some ducks this Summer after begging to do it.

Wings was an active girl with lots of attitude. She came from a famous record setting litter of 7 OTCH dogs (Obedience Trial Champions) bred by Bridget Carlsen. She was a winner right from the start of her career. Her stamina was wonderful even with the grueling 8 ring competitons of the NOC. We had a great 13 years together and I will really miss her and all her antics in everyday life. She was a wonderful and easy dog to live with and travel with.

Wings was still playing fetch on Saturday and ate breakfast on Sunday, her last meal. Her body just started to shut down Sunday night. Thank you to Dr. Leslie for being there with us at the end and for taking such good care of her all those years.
